Core Purpose to be your Lighthouse through your life

Friends, have you seen a lighthouse? It shows the directions to ships, boats and travelers so that they will not get lost. The light from the lighthouse guides them to their destination onshore. I wish that similarly we all have our own lighthouse to guide us through life so that we are never lost but progress joyfully.

Children are put in hobby class so that they will become professionals not because they enjoy and unravel their creativity and growth. Girls and boys opt for math, commerce and engineering subjects because there are many jobs in these fields, and people go for corporate job even though they may love teaching, art or cooking.

And a life which would have been a masterpiece journey becomes dull, boring and sometimes intolerable. After 10-15-20 years we wonder, what is my life achievement, my legacy, my gift to the world? That is why we all need a lighthouse to guide us through the life.

A lighthouse which can guide us everyday, on every decisions, on all ups and downs and this lighthouse is called core purpose statement.

Core Purpose Statement - The lighthouse

'To make people happy' - Do you now this is the core purpose statement of Walt Disney. They make films, animations, theme parks etc. to make people happy. This purpose guides them to venture into new things to make people happy.

'To be a teacher and to be known for inspiring my students to be more than they thought the could be' - This is the core purpose statement of Oprah Winfrey. No wonder she has achieved the unimaginable.

I invite you to write your own core purpose statement and before you do that, please get rid of all the conventional strategies, ideas and what other people have told you is reality. You are a free spirit, let all kinds of brave and fantastic ideas come to you.

The three elements of the core purpose are self, family & society, and work.

1. Self is about who you are and who you would want to be in terms of your character, attitude, and personality. The elements of self, attributes of your mind and soul.

2. How would you like to see your family as? your relationship with them. How would you like to contribute to their life and what will be their contribution to your life? so that it is a joy to be part of this family.

3. Work or Karm, what do you do or would like to do for living and why would you want to do? Remember work is an opportunity to grow, contribute, and get recognized and rewarded.

Dear friends, your core purpose statement based on correct principles will guide you in all circumstances and emotions. This will be your lighthouse guiding you to a luminous life.
